The Leadership Challenge® Workshop – 2-Day Intensive

Duration

16 hours

Focus

A world-class, research-driven leadership experience that transforms values into action and equips leaders to achieve extraordinary results through proven practice—not theory.

Description

The Leadership Challenge® is one of the most respected and extensively researched leadership development programs in the world. Grounded in more than 40 years of global research by Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner, this immersive two-day workshop focuses on what exemplary leaders actually do when they are at their best. It is designed to help leaders transform values into action, visions into reality, obstacles into innovation, and challenges into meaningful results.

The research by Kouzes and Posner found that leadership behaviors described in The Leadership Challenge are strongly correlated with employee commitment, engagement, trust, job satisfaction, and retention. They discovered that employees are more likely to stay with organizations when leaders consistently demonstrate the Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership. Their research suggests that retention is influenced less by policies and perks and more by the daily behaviors of leaders who build trust, empower others, create purpose, encourage innovation, and recognize contributions.

This program is highly interactive and deeply personal. Each participant completes the Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI) prior to the workshop, receiving a customized leadership report that identifies strengths, opportunities for growth, and specific behaviors tied to leadership effectiveness. These insights serve as the foundation for the learning experience—ensuring participants are not learning in the abstract, but working directly on their own leadership challenges, values, and goals.

Facilitated by Lynn Floyd, a Certified Master of The Leadership Challenge® personally endorsed by Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner, the workshop brings research to life through experiential learning, facilitated discussion, case studies, reflection, and application planning. Certified Master status represents the highest level of authorization within the program and ensures the course is delivered with depth, integrity, and fidelity to the model. Participants move through seven core modules, including Model the Way, Inspire a Shared Vision, Challenge the Process, Enable Others to Act, and Encourage the Heart, culminating in a clear action plan for immediate application.

Beyond the two-day workshop, participants are supported through pre-work, optional webinars, and post-workshop coaching, reinforcing learning and increasing long-term impact. Each participant also receives a comprehensive leadership toolkit, including The Leadership Challenge book, participant workbook, Values Card Deck, and LPI Action Cards—resources designed to support continued growth well beyond the classroom. For leaders serious about strengthening trust, communication, accountability, and culture, The Leadership Challenge® Workshop is not just a course—it is an investment in sustained leadership excellence.
