This 16-hour training equips public safety peer support team members with the essential knowledge and skills needed to offer support, guidance, and resources to their peers during challenging times in their personal and professional lives. Topics will include stress, burnout, traumas related to public safety, active listening, crisis intervention following trauma, marriage and family dynamics, mental health issues such as depression and anxiety, police complex spiral trauma, post-traumatic stress injury (PTSI), death and traumatic loss, line of duty deaths, public safety suicides, organizational stress, toxic personalities, substance abuse, and fostering resiliency among peer support members.
