Description

This 8-hour course is designed to provide public safety personnel, both sworn and professional staff, with valuable insights into the emotional and mental health challenges of working in public safety. The training aims to increase awareness and promote emotional wellness by addressing the potential costs of the profession. Topics include various types of stress, burnout, and the anger-stress connection; the psychological and physiological effects of trauma; vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue; relationship health; police complex spiral trauma; post-traumatic stress/injury; public safety suicides; substance abuse; and healthy coping strategies to build resilience.
