This course provides probation professionals with practical techniques for conducting effective defendant interviews and strengthening communication during casework interactions. Participants will explore the core principles of communication, including common barriers that affect effective communication, and develop strategies for building professional rapport while maintaining authority. The course also addresses recognizing and documenting non-verbal cues, using effective questioning techniques, and producing clear, defensible documentation. Scenario-based exercises allow participants to apply these skills in realistic probation supervision situations.
