Participants learn the history, classification, and effects of opioids, along with behavioral and physiological indicators of intoxication and withdrawal. The course covers officer safety, search techniques, and common methods of narcotics concealment in correctional and public safety settings. Hands-on training in intranasal naloxone administration ensures participants can respond safely, effectively, and professionally to opioid-related incidents.
