Keith Bushey | Embassy Consulting Services

Keith Bushey brings over forty years of distinguished law enforcement experience and is widely recognized throughout California and the national law enforcement community. He retired from the Los Angeles Police Department as a commander, from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department as a deputy chief, and from the United States Marine Corps Reserve as a colonel. His extensive career also includes service as a Los Angeles County deputy sheriff, a California deputy game warden, the Marshal of San Bernardino County, and law enforcement liaison on the executive staff of the Los Angeles County District Attorney. Keith’s remarkable career is defined not only by the breadth of his service but also by the depth of his leadership expertise.

A true leadership practitioner, Keith has written and taught extensively while “in the trenches.” His articles and booklets are grounded in real-world experience and personal insight—without footnotes—reflecting lessons learned from decades of direct service and, as he often says, “It is always good to learn from our mistakes, but it is particularly good if you can learn from the mistakes of others, including mine.” Passionately committed to the law enforcement profession, Keith emphasizes that the impact of leadership extends beyond the workplace, shaping families, communities, and the culture of public safety organizations.

Keith has lectured extensively across the United States and internationally, including for military audiences and a wide range of law enforcement agencies. At Embassy, he will continue to share his expertise through regular leadership writings and thought leadership pieces on our website, helping officers and leaders at all levels sharpen their skills and elevate their teams. We are proud to welcome Keith to the Embassy team, where his insight, experience, and dedication set the gold standard for police leadership.
