Shelley Jackson is a native of Los Angeles, California. She began her law enforcement career in 1986 with the Los Angeles County Sheriffโs Department. In 1990, she joined the Los Angeles County District Attorneyโs Office โ Bureau of Investigation. At the D.A.โs Office she worked in various assignments, such as Recipient Welfare Fraud, Family Violence, Hardcore Gangs, Workerโs Compensation Fraud, Child Abduction, Hate Crimes, and the Auto Insurance Fraud Task Force. She also implemented and oversaw the Bureauโs Peer Support Program. She retired from the Bureau of Investigation in 2018, at the rank of Lieutenant.
Shelley completed her undergraduate studies in 1983 at California State University, Los Angeles and obtained a B.S. in Criminal Justice. She was awarded an M.S. in Criminal Justice from California State University, Long Beach in 2008.
Since 2005, Shelley has been a member of the adjunct staff of the Simon Wiesenthal Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles, where she has facilitated numerous classes in both the Tools for Tolerance for Law Enforcement and Tools for Tolerance for Educators programs.
