This training provides corrections and public safety personnel with essential knowledge to recognize narcotic analgesics and identify signs of opioid use, impairment, and overdose. Participants learn the history, classification, and effects of opioids, along with behavioral and physiological indicators of intoxication and withdrawal. The course covers officer safety, search techniques, and common methods of narcotics concealment in correctional and public safety settings. Hands-on training in intranasal naloxone administration ensures participants can respond safely, effectively, and professionally to opioid-related incidents.
