The Civilian Leadership Institute (CLI) is proud to announce that Jason Schechterle, an already valued Embassy instructor, is formally joining the CLI faculty to bring powerful new inspiration and unbreakable resiliency to the program.

A former Phoenix Police Officer and extraordinary survivor, Jason’s story is one of the most compelling examples of human resilience in the country. Just 14 months into his law enforcement career, he was catastrophically burned when a taxi traveling over 100 mph rear-ended his patrol car, engulfing it in flames exceeding 700 degrees. Burned over 40% of his body and enduring nearly 60 surgeries, Jason refused to become a victim. Instead, he transformed his tragedy into a mission of hope and leadership.

As the author of the powerful book Burning Shield, a nationally recognized motivational speaker, and Community Relations Director for The 100 Club of Arizona, Jason brings real-world lessons on mental toughness, attitude, and rising above adversity.
